JAMES VAN DER BEEK CALLS HIS FAMILY VACATION TO EGYPT A 'MAGICAL EXPERIENCE'
James Van Der Beek may have experienced one of his best family vacations to date. In an Instagram post made on June 26, 2024, the 47-year-old actor shared a handful of photographs from his trip to Egypt with his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, and all of their six children. "#Egypt… With all my vocabulary, 'Wow,' is what fell out of my mouth most of the time," he wrote. "We were gifted a magical experience, one I'm still processing - and might be for the rest of my life."
"The kids were rock stars, my friends became brothers, and despite all the travel and time zone crossing and early-morning alarms, I feel re-charged," the post continued. He went on to talk about his experience with visiting the temples. "I'd anticipated a metaphysical element to the trip, but I was caught off-gaurd at just how deeply I felt the spiritual resonance of all these temples."
"I mean, they are 'temples', after all (duh), but whatever assumptions I had about these otherworldly structures being 'antiquities' faded as soon as I stepped into them," he said. "These were holy places, built to connect to the divine as best they understood it at the time. I left with reverence and awe - my eyes, heart, and soul expanded."

His wife also posted about the trip on her page. "The sun setting as the full moon rose- shining brightly. We watched as locals playfully road horses throughout the desert," she wrote. "The camel ride back- walking through tiny village streets- people living simply, their windows open, the smell of Egyptian food wafting through the air. It was heaven."
